形容词副词比较级最高级的变化规则： I.
单音节形容词副词比较级最高级的变化规则：
① 比较级须在形容词副词后直接加-er。 最高级须在形容词副词后直接加-est。 例如：small-smaller- the smallest short-shorter-the shortest ② 不发音e结尾的词须去掉e，再加-er, -est。
例如：strange-stranger-the strangest large-larger-the largest ③ 以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节，须双写尾字母再加-er, -est。 例如：big-bigger-(the) biggest hot-hotter-the hottest II. 以辅音加y结尾的双音节词，须先变y为i再加-er, -est。 (注意：元音加y结尾的词，y不变)
例如：happy-happier- the happiest grey-greyer-the greyest III. 多音节词的变化规则：即在形容词和副词前加more和（the） most 例如：beautiful-more beautiful-the most beautiful important-more important-the most important.
