American inventor,Thomas Edison, my favourite scientist.
Imagine this:when you lose your job and have little money,you can’t buy enough food to eat and have no place to sleep.What will you do?Will you give up or continue to find jobs to make money？I think you may fell down,even give up.
But Edison did anything like that.When he lost his first job.He went round the country from job to job. At last he found a job,fixing machines. He could not only fix the old machines but also make new ones.The boss was very appreciate him.So he gave Edison 40,000 dollars.
Thomas Edison was 23,he used the money to build a factory.He had many workers,but he worked harder than the others.He rarely had a rest.Soon he made more than 40 new things.

Thomas Edison is famous for the electricity.He invented many useful things we still use nowadays.For example:in 1876,somebody made a telephone,but it could carry voices only a little way.Edison wanted to make a better telephone that could carry voices further.He soon invented one.It could carry voices a long way.
He said:I want to bring out the secrets of nature and apply them for the happiness of human.I don't know any better service to offer for the short time we are in the world.
I believe,Thomas is one of the greatest scientists of all time.
