Purpose: To arouse students’ interest. (Show students some pictures) What happened in the pictures?
If you are a volunteer in Wenchuan, when you see the people in these situations, what will you do? So giving first aid is very important in our daily life. It is very essential for us to learn some first aid knowledge.
Task 2 Discussion and pre-reading. Purpose: To prepare for the passage
Look at the following pictures, discuss with your partner and tell us how to give first aid in the following situations.
What happened in each picture?
How to give first aid to the people before they were sent to hospital? How to give first Aid to someone when she gets burned? Task 3 Skimming.
Purpose: Ask students to reading the title and subtitle of the passage to know the main idea and the structure of the passage.
