English Grade 4 Story - The Tortoise and the Hare Once upon a time, there lived a tortoise and a hare. They were good friends and often played together.

One day, the hare was boasting about how fast he could run. He said, “I can run faster than any animal in the forest!” The tortoise, who was a bit slower, was not so sure of this. He said, “I don’t think so, let’s have a race and find out.” The hare agreed and they decided to have a race. All the animals in the forest gathered around to watch the race. When the race started, the hare immediately took off. He ran as fast as he could and was soon far ahead of the tortoise. Thinking he had plenty of time, he stopped to take a nap. Meanwhile, the tortoise kept walking slowly and steadily. He never took a break and eventually he reached the finish line. When the hare woke up from his nap, he was shocked to see that the tortoise had already won the race. He realized that slow and steady wins the race.

Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.。
